Mo2 Westown Hotel and Resort is a vibrant landmark in Iloilo’s entertainment district, blending modern “tropical-industrial” aesthetics with the high-energy lifestyle of Mandurriao. Unlike standard business hotels, this property feels like a resort embedded in the city’s pulse, featuring South American-inspired pool areas and some of the city’s most famous nightlife spots right on-site.
Travel Guide and Tips
The “Quiet Side” Request: If you are a light sleeper, specifically request a room in the building furthest from the MO2 Ice Bar and Restobar. The music carries significantly in the courtyard-facing rooms.
El Dorado Access: Guests typically get complimentary access to the El Dorado Waterpark. It’s best to go during weekday mornings to avoid the local weekend crowds.
Connectivity: Wi-Fi can be spotty in the older wings. If you’re working, the lobby or the business center usually offers the most stable connection.
Nearby Attractions
Iloilo River Esplanade (400m): A beautiful 10-minute walk away, perfect for a sunset stroll or morning jog.
Shops at Atria & SM City Iloilo: Two of the city’s premier shopping and dining hubs are within a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk.
Smallville Complex: Located right at your doorstep, this is the center of Iloilo’s nightlife, filled with bars, KTVs, and restaurants.
Molo Mansion & Church (3.9km): A quick taxi ride will take you to this historic feminist church and the beautifully restored mansion across it.
Transportation Tips
Airport Transit: The hotel is about 16km (20–30 minutes) from Iloilo International Airport. A taxi or Grab will cost roughly ₱350–₱450.
Local Commute: “Jeepneys” and “Modern Jeeps” pass frequently along Diversion Road. Look for the “Mandurriao SM City” or “Ungka” routes to reach the city center.
GrabCar: This is the most reliable way to get around Iloilo City from the hotel, especially at night when you want to avoid haggling with white taxis.
Best For
Night Owls: Those who want to be steps away from the best parties in Iloilo.
Families: The waterpark and slides are a massive hit for children.
Staycationers: Local travelers looking for a “resort” feel without leaving the city limits.

Vibrant atmosphere with live music and entertainment on-site.
Cons

Pricing Observations and Comparison
MO2 Westown generally sits in the Mid-Range bracket.
MO2 Westown: Prices often range from ₱2,200 to ₱3,500 per night, making it cheaper than the nearby Seda Atria or Park Inn by Radisson (which usually start at ₱4,500+).
Comparison: It offers better value for families than budget options like Go Hotels because of the pool amenities, though business travelers might prefer the quieter environment of Injap Tower for a similar price point.
Local Food and Tourism Tips
The Batchoy Run: You are a short ride from the La Paz Public Market. Don’t just eat any Batchoy; find Netong’s inside the market for the most authentic experience.
Seafood Feast: Take a 15-minute taxi to Villa Arevalo to eat at Tatoy’s or Breakthrough. Order the “Native Chicken” and “Baked Oysters.”
Coffee Culture: Skip the hotel coffee once and visit Madge Cafe (La Paz) for traditional flannel-dripped coffee.
First Person Review
“Walking into the lobby, you’re immediately hit by a pleasant, clean scent that masks the humid Iloilo heat. My room was surprisingly spacious, though the bathroom felt a bit dated. The highlight was definitely the evening at the MO2 Restobar—nothing beats eating grilled pork belly while a live band plays. However, I did have to use my earplugs to get to sleep because the bass from the Ice Bar was thumping until late. If you’re here to party and lounge by the pool, it’s a 10/10. If you’re here for a 6:00 AM business meeting, bring some heavy-duty noise-canceling headphones!”
